
THE REAL REASON WHY YOU CAN’T LOSE WEIGHT
Struggling to make progress? Not seeing the results you want? Here’s why.
“I want to lose weight” … Is not compelling enough
It is not enough to stop you from eating for emotional reasons, when you’re tired from a long day.
If a doctor told a smoker “the next cigarette you smoke, your heart will explode” that smoker will probably never smoke a cigarette again.
That doesn’t mean the smoker won’t crave cigarettes ever again. But there’s a very powerful reason for them not to smoke.
Powerful enough that they will dig deep and endure the difficult cravings. They have a reason NOT to smoke, that is more powerful than their cravings
Maybe you want change. You want things to be different. But you don’t want to change.
There’s a big difference between wanting CHANGE and wanting TO CHANGE. If you want change? You MUST change how you are living.
This doesn’t mean you have to overhaul your entire life overnight. This is what often stops people. The overwhelming feeling that I WANT IT NOW, SO I HAVE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW.
No, you don’t. And if you try to overhaul everything in one big burst of motivation … you will fail.
But, if you don’t change how you are living nothing changes, other than your health getting worse
So … Here’s what I keep telling you. Change is hard. How do we make change easier?
By introducing it in increments. But if you aren’t even implementing the small, simple changes in your life, you need a more powerful WHY.
This isn’t about losing weight. This is about a new life. One that means you can do things that you can’t right now.
You need an emotionally compelling reason to change. One that is stronger than your cravings.
“I want to play with my kids without pain”
“I want to see my grandkids graduate”
“I want to take that bike trip around Europe”
“I want my spouse/partner to look at me the way they used to”
Not seeing the change or the results you want? Maybe it’s time to sit down and revisit your WHY
You need to figure out what would make you say NO to something today … Because you have a stronger YES to something better in the future.
CHANGE IS HARD
Everything in our modern world and environment is geared towards making us obese. You already have an uphill battle
You don’t make it easier by expecting change to be easy and effortless
When you ACCEPT that change is hard and ADJUST your expectations, change gets a little bit easier.
So … WHY do you really want to change? And HOW can you make it happen?
